South Park, PA (October 14, 2008) Keith Barbara and the Forbes Field Motorsports team finished their 2008 campaign at ‘The Ultimate’ at Challenger Raceway this past weekend with a 16th place finish locking up the third spot in the final 2008 Unified Race Championship Tour’s (UFO) point standings behind Alex Ferree and Jared Miley.

A little bit of misfortune followed the team the Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway on September 19 & 20. After finishing fourth in his heat to transfer to the ‘Pittsburgher 100’, Keith started 17th in the main event. Barbara was behind Mike Johnson going through turns three and four when Johnson got low in the corner splashing some water up onto the track sending Keith up the racetrack. ‘I hit that water and shot up the racetrack,’ Keith explained, ‘then the back-end just got out from under me. I went around and watched John (Mollick) slide right into me. He had nowhere to go. I’m actually surprised it took that long for someone to get me.’ The incident left Keith with a 31st place finish after only completing one lap.

On October 3 & 4 Keith entered the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series sanctioned ‘Big Kahuna’ at ‘The Rock’ Allegany County Speedway in Cumberland, MD. A sixth place finish in his heat set Barbara up for one of the two B-Mains. Keith led his consolation event in the early stages and after contact with Coleby Frye and Scott Rhodes was able to hold on to the third and final transfer spot for the Main Event. Barbara dropped out with four laps remaining and was credited with an 18th place finish.

Challenger Raceway’s ‘The Ultimate’ was next on the agenda for the Forbes Field Motorsports team. The three day weekend started off strong as Keith finished the $3,000 to win, UFO sanctioned ‘Mega-Blitz’, eighth in the final rundown. Barbara then finished second in his heat race for ‘The Ultimate’ putting him in the redraw for the 91 lap, $22,000 to win feature event. Keith drew the fourth starting spot but slowly faded during the main event coming home 16th and finishing the 2008 UFO points chase in third.

JNJ Motorsports Media would like to congratulate Keith and his wife Juli on the birth of their third child, Alaina Rae, on Thursday, September 18th.

Keith and the Forbes Field Motorsports team are taking this upcoming weekend off to prepare for the arrival of their daughter but will be back in action on Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20 for the $12,000 to win, UFO sanctioned ‘Pittsburgher 100’.
