South Park, PA (September 10, 2008) Keith Barbara and the Forbes Field Motorsports team had a dominating performance on Friday, August 22nd at Lernerville Speedway when he bagged his first win at the Sarver, PA oval in over five years. The win was an emotional one for Barbara as sponsor and friend Jason Shank mourned the loss of his sister Louise. Barbara’s first congratulations came from Jason via cell phone in Sheetz Victory Lane and Barbara dedicated the win to Jason and the Shank Family.

The next week at Lernerville was the $7,000 to win, MACS sanctioned Jim Shank Memorial that was presented by Forbes Field Motorsports sponsor Potoka Trucking. Keith was set the 12th quickest time in time trials and won his heat race in dominating fashion. Barbara started the 50 lap main event in the 11th spot and was battling with multi-time Lernerville and MACS Champion Lynn Geisler for a top ten spot when a broken left lower ‘4-link’ sent Keith and his Comcast / Triangle Benefit Services / Potoka Trucking / Forbes Field Garage / Ran Group Racing Tours sponsored #17 Rocket Chassis GTO pit side with a 22nd place finish. ‘I have never had one of those break on me before,’ said a disappointed Keith.

Two days later, Sunday, August 31st the team visited one of their favorite tracks, Tyler County Speedway, for the $40,000 to win ‘Hillbilly 100’ sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Barbara was just a click off all night finishing one spot out of a transfer position in both his heat race and the consolation race.

On Saturday, September 6 the UFO series made their first appearance at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, PA. Keith, who sits third in the UFO point standings behind Alex Ferree and Jared Miley, finished second in his heat to qualify for the 51 lap, $5,500 to win ‘King of the Knob’. Keith raced hard with Doug Horton for a majority of the main event until Horton came to a stop with suspension issues sending Barbara to a solid fourth place finish behind race winner Jeremy Miller, Jason Covert, and D.J. Myers.

As the 2008 racing season slowly comes to an end, another season is just beginning for Keith and his wife Juli. Juli is expecting the couple’s third child, Alaina Rae, within the next few days. JNJ Motorsports Media would like to send their wishes to the lucky pair as they add another limb to the Barbara family tree.

Keith and the Forbes Field Motorsports team are taking this upcoming weekend off to prepare for the arrival of their daughter but will be back in action on Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20 for the $12,000 to win, UFO sanctioned ‘Pittsburgher 100’.
