Keith Barbara Battles Rain, Claims ‘Yankee Doodle’ at Central PA Speedway!! |

South Park, PA (July 7, 2008) Keith Barbara and Forbes Field Motorsports may have finally shook the monkey off their backs with a strong run on Friday, June 13th at Lernerville Speedway as he came from his 16th starting position to finish fifth and now winning at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway (PPMS) on Tuesday, June 17th and the huge $7,000 ‘Yankee Doodle’ at Central Pennsylvania Speedway in Clearfield, PA on Thursday, July 3rd.
After finishing third in his heat, Keith and his Comcast / Triangle Benefit Services / Potoka Trucking / Forbes Field Garage / Ran Group Racing Tours sponsored #17 Rocket Chassis GTO would start sixth in the ‘Topless Tuesday’ Main Event and methodically work his way into the lead. Barbara then battled with former PPMS track champion John Flinner until the two made contact sending Flinner spinning while Keith continued to lead. On the ensuing restart Barbara was pressured by long time veteran Mark Banal but Keith held his line and eventually pulled away from Banal and 2007 PPMS champion Jared Miley to pick up his first win of the 2008 season.
Barbara and Forbes Field Motorsports picked up their biggest win ever on Thursday night, July 3rd at the Unified Force Race Championship Tour (UFO) sanctioned ‘Yankee Doodle 50’. Keith and team earned the $7,000 payday after holding off World of Outlaws star Chub Frank. Barbara and Frank raced side by side for the white flag lap of the event but it was Keith holding off the former World 100 and Dirt Track World Championship winner for the win. Keith is currently third in UFO points behind Alex Ferree and Jared Miley.
“Wow, what can I say?” Keith said from his shop on Monday, “We finally got a bigger one. It was great racing with someone like Chub for the win, we raced each other hard and clean for the win. I’m not sure if it gets any better than that.”
Barbara will be highlighted tonight, July 7th on Rappin’ on Racin’ and is scheduled to appear on the show at approximately 7:30pm. The show can be heard on AM Radio 810 WEDO from 6-8pm every Monday or it can be heard online at www.speedwayproductions.biz.
