South Park, PA (June 26, 2007) Keith Barbara and Forbes Field Motorsports were in action this past Friday at Lernerville Speedway with a new engine built by Domhoff Racing Engines under the hood of their Triangle Benefits Services/Potoka Trucking/Forbes Field Garage/RanGroup Racing Tours/Rocket Chassis GTO.
The excited race team was anxious to get back to work on the family owned machine but unfortunately the night was short lived. Keith won his heat race in convincing fashion but coming into turn three on the final lap, Keith lost all oil pressure. Barbara was unsure of why he lost oil pressure and couldn’t find the reason for it. The team decided to load up and head home to not risk hurting the motor. “I have no idea what happened,” said a dejected Barbara. “It could be the oil pump that we have been using, these Domhoff motors are really strong motors, maybe the (oil) pump couldn’t handle it, I don’t really know. They (Domhoff Racing Engines) told us to get an oil pump that they recommend so we will try that. I just wish we could keep one (motor) together.”
“We will have our other motor back on Thursday,” Keith said about this upcoming weekend. “We will put it in our new car for this weekend’s Firecracker at Lernerville. I’m pretty excited to bring out the new car for the local crowd; we haven’t had that car out of the shop since Charlotte back in May. I think the fans will really like our new look. We were really good there (Lernerville) last week and I’m hoping to have a good showing for our sponsors and fans. A good run this weekend will go a long way.”
This weekend the Keith Barbara and the Forbes Field Motorsports team will be at Lernerville Speedway for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned ‘Firecracker 100’ paying $30,000 to the winner. Sunday’s plans will lead them to Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway for the unsanctioned 53-lap, $5,300 to win Red Miley Memorial.
