Barbara Blasts to First Win of 2013 at Roaring Knob
Markleysburg, PA (April 13, 2013) South Park, PA’s Keith Barbara took the green from the pole and led flag-to-flag to become the season’s first Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Super Late Model winner of the season. “We finally got a win at Rick Jones’s track,” a happy Barbara said in victory lane. Barbara, the 2012 United Force (UFO) Super Model Series champion, drove a
consistent line in his No. 17 Mastersbilt. In the final laps, however, racing fans were focusing on a hard-charging Jared Hawkins, who was storming his way to the front. “I kept seeing him (Hawkins) pick up the cars on the lap counter….so, I knew I was in trouble. I just stayed patient and held my line,” Barbara explained.

Hawkins started 12th in the event and used the high line to advance his way through the field. The Fairmont, WV driver gained his momentum in the top groove in his No. 37 Rocket. At times, Hawkins appeared to have the fastest car on the track. The former World of Outlaws feature winner ran out of time and settled for second.

Former Roaring Knob track champion, Tim Senic of Elkins, WV, took the green from the outside pole. Senic ran a solid race to finish third.  Somerset, PA’s Scott Rhodes, who is also a former track champion at the Knob, crossed the stripe in fourth. Lewistown, PA’s Nick Dickson, the 2012 Hagerstown Speedway track champion, rounded out the top five.

Super Late heat winners among the 21 entries were Dickson; Oakland, MD’s Cody Hardesty and Hyndman, PA’s D.J. Troutman. Click Here for Results

Keith Barbara Bags $3,000 with ULMS Victory at Sharon!
October 8, 2012 (South Park, PA) Keith Barbara and Forbes Field Motorsports captured their fifth win of the 2012 season this past Saturday, October 6 at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH in a $3,000 to-win United Late Model Series sanctioned event.

Keith drew the pole position for the 30-lap main event and jumped out to a half-straightaway lead after two early cautions.
By lap 13, Barbara was being pressured by Dave Hess Jr., before another caution fell.  Keith was able to hold onto the lead as racing resumed but started to see his temperature gauge increase as the race wore on. During a lap 23 caution, smoke could be seen coming from Barbara’s Forbes Field Garage, JNJ Motorsports Media, RanGroup Racing Tours sponsored Mastersbilt by Huey #17.  Keith almost pulled off the speedway but decided to continue with only seven laps remaining.  Barbara then led those final seven laps to pick up the win by just over a second over World of Outlaws Late Model Series regular Chub Frank and Jared Hawkins. MORE

Barbara Snags Fourth Win of 2012 at Pittsburgh

August 25, 2012 (Imperial, PA) South Park PA’s Keith Barbara picked up his third Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models. The old saying “it’s not over until it’s over” rang true in the 25 lap main event. Point leader Michael Norris grabbed the lead at the start over Tommy Beck and Steve Baker. Norris had the thing well under control with a comfortable lead over Beck and Baker, with 11th starting Barbara now in fourth.

And for the first 19 laps it looked as if Norris was on his way to pick up his third win of the season and second of the weekend.  But on lap 20 Norris tagged the turn one and two wall flatting his right front tire and bringing out the caution.  This put Beck in the lead, with Baker and Barbara behind. On the restart, Barbara got around both and took over first. On lap 23 Norris brought out the yellow again, with a right rear flat and was done for the night. On the restart Baker got by Beck, as did Tony Musolino and Kyle Lukon so at the finish it was Barbara, Baker, Musolino, Lukon, Beck, Daryl Charlier, Brandon Burgoon, Alex Ferree, Kari Gasser, and Mike Johnson.  Burgoon was the K&N Performer of the race while Barbara picked up the Awesome Hard Charger award.  Kyle Lukon and Steve Baker won the heats. The close point race will be decided next week between Michael Norris and Alex Ferree.
